The Book of Psalms in the Bible, a great spiritual treasure.
In the centre of the Old Testament of the Holy Bible is that wonderful and unique book called The Psalms. It is a book of worship, and many Christians believe it is composed of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, which the apostle Paul referred to in Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16. What a resource of high value!
The book of psalms is part of the word of God, and is profitable to us, for we know that “All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The psalms were written by several different authors, even Moses wrote one, but about half of them were written down by David, who was also a musician and singer. For a very long time, the Jews of the old covenant and now Christians of the new covenant have made use of the psalms in their worship services, and even at home in their daily life. They are God’s provision for worshipping Him in spirit and in truth.
